How it works

It is an auction for places in a list of footballers. That is all it is, and reading this should take a minute.

The order is the money

Every player on the board has a total: all the money anybody has ever put on them. The board is that total, sorted highest first. There is no vote, no algorithm, no jury and nothing to farm.

To go up, beat the one above you

Each row shows the exact amount that would pass the player above it: their total, minus yours, plus one dollar. Pay that and you swap places. The number is on the button before you pay, so there are no surprises at the till.

Money adds up and never disappears

Bids are cumulative. Your money is added to that player's total and stays there for good. Being overtaken does not cost you anything and does not empty anything: your money is still on the board, somebody else has simply put more on top. You never pay twice for the same position.

Level on money? First there stays above

If two players end up with the same total, the one who got there first holds the higher spot. That is the normal rule in an auction, and it is why passing somebody always costs at least a dollar.

Anyone can add a player

There is no roster to wait for. Type a name, pick them out of the football database so we do not end up with three spellings of the same person, and pay the opening bid. Paying is the filter: there is nothing free to spam.

There is no prize. At all.

No draw, no reward, no cash-out, no shirt in the post, nothing. You are buying a position in a list that you can lose, and it is worth exactly nothing outside this page. If there were a prize this would be regulated gambling โ€” there isn't, and it isn't.

No refunds

Every bid is final from the moment it is paid, because the moment it is paid it is on the board and everybody can see it. Because that counts as a digital service provided immediately, EU law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal that you have to expressly waive at the till. That is the tickbox in the payment page, and we keep a copy of what you agreed to.

The players have nothing to do with this

Nobody on this board entered it, agreed to it, bid on themselves or is aware of it. There are no photographs, no crests and no club logos here โ€” not as decoration and not as a joke โ€” because those belong to other people and there is money on this table. You get a name, a team, a number, a flag and two colours.

The weekly view

The board is all-time, because that is what the money bought. Alongside it there is a weekly view: who has taken the most money since Monday. It is a different question, not a second ranking, and Monday deletes nothing โ€” the board keeps every bid ever made.

Why any of this exists

It doesn't need to. A list of footballers ordered by how much strangers paid is not information about football; it is information about the strangers. We think that is funny enough to build, and we would rather say so than pretend it is a fan engagement platform.
